MINI Corona Information.

Dear customers and MINI fans,

We know that in the current exceptional situation there are more important topics than motorization. For MINI, the health of employees, partners and you - our customers - is a priority. That is why we have implemented a number of remedial and preparatory measures, jointly and severally taking care of your and joint security. At the same time, we want to assure you that we are still at your disposal. Our Showrooms and After Sales Department services are open as usual, with additional sanitary and security measures. To help you comply with the recommended minimization of contacts, we also introduce a number of additional solutions for online communication. In these difficult moments we are still serving you as best we can. We hope that MINI provides you with fun every day, even in these special circumstances.

Be safe.

How does MINI handle infected employees?

The health and protection of our employees is our top priority. In view of current developments, the BMW Group has therefore immediately initiated appropriate measures to protect its employees. At the same time, we are in constant close contact with our medical health service and the relevant authorities and are keeping our employees informed of current developments.

Shutdown of european plants.

The health and protection of our employees is our top priority. At the same time, the dynamic development of the corona pandemic is having a major impact on demand for cars and motorcycles. We are therefore taking a flexible approach and adjusting our production volumes accordingly. By the end of this week, we will shut down production at our car plants in Europe, our motorcyle plant in Berlin and the car plant at Rosslyn (South Africa). The production break is expected to last until 19 April, 2020. Afterwards, we will proceed as the situation requires. Over the next few days, we will decide how our engine and component plants and international automobile plants will proceed.

Is MINI affected as well?

The BMW Group experienced several confirmed COVID-19 infections in different locations. The BMW Group has immediately initiated further measures to protect its employees. Naturally, the health and protection of our employees is our top priority.

Is the MINI Oxford factory still open?

We have sought to protect our business and our people during what is an unprecedented global challenge. The majority of our employees will be paid in full and we have made provisions for agency workers as far as possible by extending flexible working and holiday arrangements. This is, of course, a rapidly moving situation and we are continuing to work through the finer details as to what this means for everyone and our business going forward.

PROTECTION MEASURES.

How can I protect myself?

Stay up-to-date with the latest COVID-19 information, available on the World Health Organization (WHO) website and through your national and local health authorities. Observe the behavior and hygiene measures shown and recommended there.

What can I do to keep my MINI free from viruses?

We suggest cleaning all surfaces that you touch with a damp cloth and a little soapy water. Knobs and door handles may also be cleaned carefully with a little disinfectant. Please do not use any aggressive (e.g. chlorine, etc.), abrasive or corrosive cleaners on the surface of your car and interior. You can also reduce the spread of viruses on your interior by washing your hands before using your MINI.

Can my new mini "transmit" the virus?

Based on the transmission routes determined so far and the relatively low environmental stability of corona viruses, it is currently very unlikely that imported goods and parts in vehicles could be the source of an infection with the novel corona virus. This assessment also applies to the latest publication on the survivability of the known corona viruses by scientists from the universities of Greifswald and Bochum.
